Abba
Lorsque Agnetha Fälkstog, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus et Anni-Frid Lyngstad - dite Frida - décident de fonder ABBA en 1970, chacun a déjà derrière lui une carrière menée en solo dans les années 60. Vainqueur du Concours Eurovision de la chanson en 1974 avec 'Waterloo', ABBA connaît très vite un succès fulgurant, avec des titres devenus légendaires, de 'Money Money Money' à 'Knowing You' en passant par 'Dancing Queen'. En 1978, le réalisateur de la plupart de leurs clips, Lasse Hallström, leur consacre un documentaire, 'ABBA - The Movie', qui récolte plus de vingt millions d'entrées. Le début des années 80 est marqué par des tensions au sein du groupe, entraînant une baisse de créativité, même si les albums de cette période rencontrent un grand succès. Finalement, en 1982, sans annonce véritablement officielle, ABBA se dissout et chacun des membres tente une carrière solo. Si le groupe n'existe plus, l'ABBA touch, elle, prend de l'ampleur, au point de devenir à partir de 1989 un véritable phénomène, l'ABBA-revival. Reprises, compilations, rééditions entretiennent le mythe, comme ce groupe allemand, Abba Gold, fondé en 2006, dont le spectacle fait revivre le pop glamour du groupe et ses inoubliables succès. Depuis sa création, ABBA a vendu plus de 360 millions d'albums, ce qui inscrit le groupe au 3e rang mondial des ventes globales, après les Beatles et Elvis Presley.
